I have "age spots" on my legs from sun damage -- fair skinned. I have my skin checked every 6 months at the dermatologist. These are AKs and freckles. Have tried several spot treatments and they have not worked. C02 burning left a scar. IPL did nothing. Fraxel didn't work and they've just come back after topical peel treatments. Is there a different laser I can try and if so, where can I find treatment in Phoenix, AZ?
Hi and thank you for your question! IPL is generally good option to try for brown/age spots specially in patients with fair skin, but like many other laser treatments, multiple sessions are generally needed for best results. CO2 laser and its variants (Fraxel, etc) are generally not high on my list for pigmented lesions since these laser target water and can't do much to help with pigments. If you want to try other lasers for pigments, you can look into Erbium laser skin resurfacing our picosecond lasers. I hope it helps and good luck!
