hi there...i have read that bellafill filler contains polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) which is a permanent material.....do you recommend using it for my acne scars on my cheeks? it just seems scary since its permanent....thanks
Hi and thank you for your question! Not all scars are best treated with fillers, so the first question we need to answer is whether your scar can be treated with fillers (vs. other options such as fractional CO2 laser). Assuming that you are a candidate for filler treatment for acne scarring, while Bellafill is an excellent filler and approved for treatment of acne scars, and many patients view its long-lasting as an advantage, if you are hesitant you can try other fillers such as hyaluronic acid based fillers and see if you like the results. If so, you can always switch to more longer-lasting options such as Bellafill in future. I hope it helps and good luck!
