I recently got sculpsure done and the nurse told me i should be feeling cycles of 20 seconds of heat and 10 seconds of cooling but what i felt was more like 5 seconds of heat and 15 seconds of cooling. The heat never went on for twenty seconds during my cycles. She said that everyone feels it differently but is it something that happens frequently and will it affect my results? i was also done on a 1.4 setting with no pain or discomfort whatsoever.

Alternating heating and cooling in SculpSure

Hi and thank you for your question! The SculpSure works by delivering a high energy laser that is specifically absorbed by fat and the treatment goes through alternating cycles of heating up and cooling down as your nurse explained. However, you need to keep in mind that heat sensation is an objective matter and they way our body senses heating/cooling and the way our brain percepts it can be highly dependent on other factors such as the ambient temperature, previous temperature and the trends in temperature. Hence, what you felts is not necessarily aligned with how and when exactly the heating up and cooling down cycles were taking place and you should not be concerned with that. I hope it helps and good luck!
