Two days ago I got 1 syringe of Belotero injected into my upper cheek/eye area to remedy tear trough lines that went down my cheek. I've had 1 syringe injected before with a cannula with no issue, but after having it done with a needle, my malar pads are large and squishy. The doctor has told me this is normal, but how long does it typically take to resolve and why are they reacting?

Malar bags Swollen after Belotero

Hi and thank you for your question! The swelling following filler injection under the eyes is quite common and it might take up to 2 weeks to fully subside and at time, any concerns can be best addressed by your injector. This being said, filler injections under the eyes require a great level of skill and experience to achieve best aesthetic results. Issues related with malar bags and alike (if due to the filler itself and not temporary swelling) can often be avoided by careful injection of fillers at other areas nearby instead of focusing on under the eyes only. I hope it helps and good luck!
