Have been on Imitrex, Relpax and Cambia for my migraines. I have MS, Sjogrens and COPD, the headaches are becoming almost intolerable. Are Botox injections an option I should discuss with my Neurologist.??

Botox for Migraine Headache

Hi and thank you for sharing your question here! Botox is an FDA-approved treatment for migraine headache. The FDA-approved protocol is for patients with 15 or more days of migraine lasting for 4 hours or more per month who failed on 2 headache preventive medications. The treatment includes a total of 150 units of Botox spread on several muscles at the forehead, temple, back of the scalp and neck and shoulder. The treatment typically works nicely and the majority of patients like it. Some patients may even get good headache control with partial dose. Based on what you described, you should may see benefits from the Botox injection for your headache. I hope it helps and good luck!
