How picky should I be with board certified practitioners?
A patient asked 6 years ago Looking to get cheek/under eye filler, preferably Restylane Lyft. Super nervous ab choosing a doctor. Living in L.A. & there are way too many options for my liking. Price & experience= 2 most important factors. P.A. who did my lips said it would be $1600 for 2 syringes of RL..more than I want to pay considering she's only been in practice for 1-2 yrs (as far as I know). I asked for photos but she could only show me 2 people she has done. I am looking to spend around $1300. Plz post pics.

Hi and thank you for your question! I'm sure this is going to be a hot topic here! Being board-certified is generally an important factor (with consideration of the specific boards we are talking about), but you need to remember that it is just one factor among many more when it comes to selecting a physician to work with. Other factors that can be important are experience level, before-after pictures and reviews. None of these should be viewed as the final deal maker or deal breaker and you should consider them all together. More importantly, you need to feel comfortable working with your doctor and the only way to ensure that is to meet your doctor for a consultation first and see if he/she is the one! I know the cost is also an important factor, but I caution against putting it high on the list since this is after all about your health and well being. We can all save a few dollar over many things in our life, but when it comes to health, it should be the quality of the work that drives the decision.
