Chin filler and cheek volume loss?

Cosmetic Treatments QuestionsCategory: VolumaChin filler and cheek volume loss?
A patient asked 8 years ago
After having a syringe of Voluma in my chin my cheeks seemed to have lost volume. My face was tight after the injection and I told my surgeon I feared it was pulling them down but he assured me my face would not change and it was swelling. It's been 4 weeks and my face still looks like it lost volume in the mid section. As the voluma wears off will my face bounce back up? I can see in these pictures how I lost some directly under the eye and maybe a little fullness (less pointy) Is this normal?

Chin Filler Affecting Cheek Volume?

Hi and thank you for your question! The tightness you were initially experiencing is probably related to the swelling associated with filler injection and it is expected to go away within 2 weeks. Filler treatments in the chin are usually not expected to affect cheeks but for most accurate assessment, I highly recommend that you do a follow up with your doctor. Reviewing before and after pictures that were obtained professionally from different angles is the best way to objectively assess the results. Also (and while I am not saying that this is necessarily the case for you), sometimes patients get a treatment in one area and it seems that they become more aware of issues that might have been existing before at other areas following that. A whole-face approach is the best approach as it addresses various part of the face for a more balanced look. I hope it helps and good luck!
