Dark hollow undereyes. What can I do?

A patient asked 7 years ago
Hi, I'm 20 years old, and for as long as I can remember, I've had dark undereyes. I know that it's probably genetic, since my mother and sister also do. I rarely leave the house without layers of concealer, and when I do, I feel very self conscious; I just look exhausted. I have very light skin and the skin under my eyes is very thin. The area is also kind of hollow, which makes it hard to conceal, even with makeup. I was wondering, what are my options? And how long do fillers last? Thanks!

Dark Hollow Under Eyes

Hi and thank you for your question! While an in-person examination is needed, you seem to be a good candidate for filler injection under the eyes and you should see great improvements. You only want to have smooth hyaluronic acid fillers such as Belotero, Restylane or Volbella injected under the eyes and for best results, I recommend doing injections with cannula. The results should last for around 6 months, but given the deep impact of this problem on your social life, doing injections twice a year shouldn't be a big hassle. I hope it helps and good luck!
