I had the procedure three weeks ago. The results were minimal and it looks like nothing was done. Is it worth trying again or am I just bad candidate? How long can I wait before trying again? I am 53 years old and look like I am in my 70's. I was never a smoker, but have large amounts of stress and anxiety that I am being treated for.

Minimal Results after Botox and Restylane

Hi and thank you for your question! I always advise my patients to allow 2 weeks for the results of Botox and fillers to fully settle in. In your case, since you are already beyond this period, it would be best to do a follow up with your physician. At this time, comparing pictures taken before the treatment with current pictures can provide the most accurate objective assessment. At times, the treatments provide some improvements but as they occur gradually over days, patients might not notice them and comparison of pictures is the best approach. Additionally, while it needs to be determined during an in-person consultation and exam and I do not know if it has been the case for you, at times I see patients who have had significant volume loss in face and they might need several syringes of filler. Doing less-than-needed number of syringes of filler in such cases much result in sub-optimal results, but the injected filler still provides a foundation for future work and if more fillers are injected shortly after, they are more likely to show more prominent results although individual results may vary. I hope it helps and good luck!
