I’m planning on getting a microneedling and prp session done, and I have 5 weeks from then until I go to basic military training in San Antonio, Texas. I can bring sunscreen with me but I probably can’t reapply every 2 hours. Does this mean I can potentially be susceptible to sun damage? I’m going to San Antonio in January and staying there for 8 weeks. Can I still get this procedure done?

Timing of Microneedling and PRP Treatment

Hi and thank you for your question! Leaving 5 weeks after your microneedling and PRP treatment will give your skin more than enough time to completely heel. As a matter of fact, unlike laser treatments, skin will be far less susceptible to sun exposure after microneedling and hence you shouldn't have any concern with that. This being said, it is always a good idea to protect your skin against sun damage which is the primary cause of skin aging as well as skin cancer and hence please do your best to apply a broad-spectrum spf30+ sunblock whenever out under the sun and renew it frequently even during your military training. I hope it helps and good luck!
