Looking to do under eye filler but I do not want to risk my eye health or go blind from using an unqualified injector. Options?
A patient asked 7 years ago I would appreciate any help on this subject. I live in Southwestern Ontario and am looking for a doctor/injector between the area of Windsor and Hamilton. Preferably not Toronto. If you could point me to one or at least tell me how I can determine if a person is qualified to do the job, I'd really appreciate it. Also, any advice on which filler to use? Thanks!

Hi and thank you for your question! You are right in being more careful with doing filler injections under the eyes, given the presence of sensitive anatomical features in that area. Filler injections under eyes requires a greater level of skill and experience and I highly recommend you do it with a physician who can show you several before and after pictures of patients he/she has treated in under the eyes. Also, I highly recommend doing the injections using flexible blunt-end cannula rather than sharp needles as this technique can reduce the risk of complications. If done properly, filler injections under the eyes can have dramatic results and many of my patients are extremely happy with the improvements.
