Malar bags. What can I do?
A patient asked 8 years ago Hi. I'm only 23 and I feel like I look old!! I have a few (very slight) expression lines on my forehead and I also have malar bags. They make me so self conscious. And they are getting worse. I've tried everything, but I'm scared to get work done because I've also seen a lot of bad reviews on malar bag removal etc. I wear sunscreen every single day and When I'm out in the sun for long periods, I reapply sunscreen and wear sunglasses! I don't know what to do.

Hi and thank you for sharing your question here! Some people genetically have very deep tear troughs which may extend all the way down to the cheeks. As your skin laxity is still good, you can take advantage from filler injections under the eyes (such as Restylane or Volbella) combined with Voluma injection at the cheeks and junction of the cheek and eyelid and get the best aesthetic results. Due to the sensitive nature of the procedures, please make sure to find an experienced physician with great skills in performing injections in the mid-face area and someone with a holistic and comprehensive approach to the face rejuvenation. The injection can be done with flexible micro-cannula to get the best aesthetic results and less bruising.
