What is the advantage of Radiesse as a temple + hand filler?

Cosmetic Treatments QuestionsCategory: RadiesseWhat is the advantage of Radiesse as a temple + hand filler?
A patient asked 6 years ago
I keep hearing cosmetic surgeons & dermatologists recommending this filler for the temples & hands. Though I was confused as it isn’t a hyaluronic acid filler. I heard it contained calcium & for this reason it’s a good choice for the temples & hands - is this true? What exactly is the reason many doctors opt to use it?

Advantages of Radiesse for Temple or Hans

Hi and thank you for your question! As it comes to fillers, there often is no one filler that is best for all patients and all areas. This is a decision that should be made for each individual patient and based on the area and the results that one wants to achieve. Radiesse is an excellent FDA-approved filler and its primary advantages (compared to hyaluronic acid fillers for examples) are that it is long-lasting and it is a stimulatory filler, which is expected to induce body to make more collagen around it as time passes. As such, it can be a great option for areas such as temples, hands, jawlines, etc. On the other hand, there are areas that should not be injected with Radiesse (e.g. under eyes or lips). As always, consulting an experienced cosmetic physician is highly recommended. I hope it helps and good luck!
