Hello! I am a fairly thin female but I've noticed that I have this layer of fat under my chin now. I am worried that as I get older, it will worsen. My concern with kybella is that I am not sure of the side effects it will have on me since I have an autoimmune disease ( hoshimotos/hypothyroid). Is there a potential of my condition worsening? Also will this procedure give me a more defined jawline? Thank you for any help!

Hi and thank you for posting your question! I personally perform many Kybella injections and really like it for my patients. It almost always works well if it is injected properly by an experienced physician. In addition to melting away the unwanted fat, it also helps to tighten the skin and its results are permanent. The location of the injection is far enough from thyroid gland and should not have any side effects on thyroid function. I hope it helps and good Luck!
