So 3 weeks ago I got my third series of shots, and the injections felt different. this time I didn’t hear the crunching sound with each injection that I heard every other time. After I asked if it didn’t go as deep would it still work. As days pasted I was surprised that my episodes continued to get more frequent and the pain was getting slowing worse. Today I had horrendous migraine. I am very worried that the shots were not injected properly and didn’t work this time

Botox for Migraine Not Working?

Hi and thank you for your question! I don't think that the sound of injection or the feeling following the procedure can be an accurate indicator of the proper treatment. Also please keep in mind that being worried too much about the procedure might also have a negative effect on the headaches (just as we have placebo effect, we can also have a reverse placebo effect which occurs when patients are given a treatment that they think it's not effective and indeed they might see reduced effectiveness of the treatment!) I think it is best that you do a follow up with your physician and raise your concern with them and your doctor should be able to address it all. I hope it helps and good luck!
