Should I do my masseter botox 2 months before my Rhinoplasty or after I’m all healed from it?
A patient asked 5 years ago I am having a Rhinoplasty performed on March 2nd, 2020 (2 months from now) I am also wanting to get Masseter botox. My question is.. Would it mess anything up getting my masseter botox now and have surgery in 2 months or should I wait until I am all healed from the Rhinoplasty? I know I'll have to go back for another round of botox but didn't know if the first one before my Rhinoplasty would make any difference at all. Thank you for your time!

Hi and thank you for your question! There should be no issue doing either procedure first and you can proceed with whatever order you would like. However, since rhinoplasty is the more "permanent" treatment with lasting results, if there is a choice and all else being equal, doing the Botox after the rhinoplasty can allow your physician to have a better assessment of your face and look overall to fine-tune the treatment. It is likely to be less of an issue with Botox injections into the masseter muscles since the bulk and tone of the muscles are the main determinants, but being able to assess the whole-face when doing the injections is still preferred if possible.
