Why do my lip fillers wear off in a month? 3 syringes in 6 mos and they look the same! Dr. said she’s never seen this
A patient asked 5 years ago In dec I had one full syringe Juvederm ultra it wore off.. again in March I had another wore off I had restlyne defyne one syringe in May it is now June 6th it’s gone they and they same size they were before I started they should be huge! My doctor said she’s never seen this before in regards to it wearing off in a month! I have no health issues but a high metabolism I’m pretty thin tho I eat well. Anything left for me to try? Or do I give up?

Hi and thank you for your question! I am not sure if the picture you posted is for right after the treatment or after you felt it was worn off, and it is impossible to make a call without seeing your before/baseline pictures, but just looking at the picture, the volume seems to be good. During the first few days following the lip injections, it is very common to have swelling which shows as extra volume and as the swelling goes down, some patients might feel that their filler has gone away, even though it is mainly the swelling that has gone down. Accurate comparison of pictures taken before the procedure and current ones will usually show the improvements. In general for lips, Voluma is the longest lasting filler and if you have concerns with fillers not lasting long, you can try Voluma next time.
